“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all the darkness”

About

My Philosophy

My name is Georgetta.  I am an experienced qualified counsellor, registered with The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which means I am committed to working according to their Ethical Framework.

Sometimes, life experiences leave us with little or no hope. EPOH is an acronym that describes the way I will work with you.  The aim is to work backwards through my EPOH approach so you can regain a sense of hope in your life.  I believe that given an enabling environment, you may slowly begin to see a glimmer of light through the darkness of the situation you are in.

My role is to work with you in your own unique way to identify and have a deeper understanding of the underlying barriers that get in the way  of being able to  live a fully functioning life. I work one-to-one, online with adults of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientation and  gender identities.

Treatment

Supporting clients in the following areas

Anxiety

Do you ever feel fearful and  anxious, or have negative thoughts that will not go away? I can work with you identify triggers, process your thoughts and feelings so you can understand and learn  ways of  calming the anxious mind.

Bereavement

I work with all types of grief with special interest in baby loss and trauma related grief. I support my clients by walking alongside each of them as they navigate through the various stages of their grief.

Identity Issues

Are you born and bred in a country, yet do not feel part of that society? Or have you lost a sense of identity as you reach a certain age?  I can support you through the process of  self discovery in order to come to terms with your authentic self.

Binge Eating Disorder

Clients may have an unhealthy relationship with food. They may also be stuck in yo-yo dieting cycle which could lead to depression, self-loathing or shame. My work is to explore causal factors and support clients to find  sustainable solutions.

Workplace Stress

Too much stress could lead to all sorts of illness and mental health conditions.  I can help you to understand factors that triggers your stress and support you in finding ways to manage  stress levels better.

Personal Development

We all have the ability to live life to full potential in our own unique and creative way. However, low self-esteem or lack of confidence, which may have stemmed from disapproving comments in childhood, can get in the way. I aim to work holistically with you to empower personal growth and resilience.

Walk and talk

The combination of mindful walking in nature and  talking therapy could put clients at ease to open up and explore feelings about difficult experiences. I walk with clients mainly around beautiful parks or waterways.
